UPA Fought Only To Save Govt: Amit Shah's Attack On Oppn During No-Trust Vote Debate

Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that the UPA's character was to indulge in corruption to save their government. "But NDA fights to protect its principle," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said that the no-confidence motion debate in Lok Sabha had been brought only to "create a delusion". "There is not a no-confidence in the PM and this government in the country...This no-confidence motion has been brought only to create a delusion... This no-confidence motion will show the real character of the Opposition in the country," Amit Shah said. He alleged that the UPA's character was to indulge in corruption to save their government. "PM Modi govt took some historic decisions and ended dynasties and graft. UPA's character is to protect power but NDA fights to protect principle," he said.

"After Independence, PM Modi's govt is only there which won the trust of most of the people. PM Modi is the most popular leader among the public. Amit Shah then went on to list the government's achievements, saying: "Because this no-confidence motion is politically motivated, I will have to mention the work done by this government."

What we have given to farmers are not freebies, but we have made them self-sufficient," Shah said. He further alleged that the Opposition was against the Jan Dhan Yojana because "when Re 1 is sent from the Centre to the poor, only 15 paise reached the beneficiary". "But today, the entire amount reaches the poor," he said.
