Nitish Kumar Meets Hemant Soren, Says Result Of Discussions Will Be Visible In 2024 Lok Sabha Polls

After his meeting with the Jharkhand Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar spoke to the media and said that the opposition parties will come together and work unitedly in the next Lok Sabha elections and produce results.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren in Ranchi on Wednesday and discussed a host of issues. But the talks were largely centred around a united opposition to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the general elections to be held in 2024.

After his meeting with the Jharkhand Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar spoke to the media and said that the opposition parties will come together and work unitedly in the next Lok Sabha elections and produce results.

"Our talks centred around forming a united opposition and the result of the discussion will be visible in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections," said Kumar at the press meet, according to PTI.

"We will oppose attempts by the Centre to make changes in history. We will also restore Hindu-Muslim unity," Kumar, further said.

The meeting is seen as part of Kumar's efforts to bring all non-NDA parties together to put up a strong front against BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Kumar on Tuesday called on Patnaik at his residence in Bhubaneswar and held a discussion with him for around an hour.

The JD(U) supremo, who is trying to unite anti-BJP politicians had recently held talks with West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal 

The Bihar Chief Minister has also met NCP chief Sharad Pawar, and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury in order to form a coalition that can put up a strong fight against the BJP.

Kumar has been maintaining that he has “no prime ministerial ambitions” but said he was looking forward to play a “positive” role in forging opposition unity against the ruling NDA.
