All About Nidhi Tewari, IFS Officer Appointed Private Secretary To PM
IFS officer Nidhi Tiwari has been appointed as the Private Secretary to PM Modi.

A 2014 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Nidhi Tewari, has been appointed as the Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She was previously serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
According to the notice by the Department of Personnel & Training, her appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

She will assume the role of Private Secretary at Level 12 of the pay matrix on a co-terminus basis or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the notification said.
'Secured 96th rank in the Civil Services Examination'
According to News18, she secured the 96th rank in the Civil Services Examination, 2013. She hails from Mehmurganj in Varanasi. Tewari had a brief stint at the Ministry of External Affairs before joining PMO. She served in the Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division.
Before clearing the Civil Services Examination in 2013, she worked as an Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Tax) in Varanasi while preparing for the exam alongside her job, as per the report.
At the PMO, she has served as Deputy Secretary in the ‘Foreign and Security’ vertical, which reports to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. She specifically took care of areas such as External Affairs, Atomic Energy and Security Affairs, as well as the state of Rajasthan.
