'Necessary For India Too To Be Self-Reliant': PM Modi Notes Biden's 'Make In America' Pitch In State Of Union Address
PM Modi noted that US President stressed on 'Make in America' in today's speech, and said it is necessary that India too becomes self-reliant.
New Delhi: Continuing with the post-Budget Webinar series, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an event on ‘Technology-led development’ today. PM Modi urged India to be self-reliant and said that technology is a robust medium to empower the common man.
PM Modi noted that the US President stressed on 'Make in America' in today's speech, and said it is necessary that India too becomes self-reliant in new order. He said, "technology for us is robust medium to empower common man & strong base to make India self-reliant."
PM Modi highlighted the impact of Union Budget 2022-23 on the technology and science sector and outlined the action points for implementing the provisions made for this sector in this budget.
PM Modi said that in this year's Union budget, emphasis has been laid on sunrise sectors like artificial intelligence, semiconductors, space technology, etc. A road map has been laid for auction for 5G spectrum in this Budget.
He added," I urge you all to focus on the circular economy, e-waste management, and electric mobility solutions during this webinar. The government of India seeks ideas from the IT & Electronics sector on these."
The Prime Minister further said that today, medical science has also become almost technically driven. We also have to pay attention that more and more medical equipment should be manufactured in India keeping the requirements of the country in mind.
The webinar is a part of a series organised by the government in various sectors to facilitate efficient implementation of the announcements made in the Union Budget. Secretaries and Ministers of the above-mentioned departments will discuss the working points of the sub-sessions and finalise the further strategy towards implementation, in the third part of the webinar.
