Navjot Singh Sidhu offered Deputy CM post by AAP in Punjab: Source

New Delhi: The political market of permutation and combination is high in the poll-bound state of Punjab and there are rumours that Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has offered the post of deputy Chief Minister to Navjot Singh Sidhu in case the later decides to join hands with the Delhi CM's party. The Congress party is also trying to woo the newly formed Awaaz E Punjab party of the ex-BJP leader. According to the sources, the AAP has also promised to give five seats in the Assembly, in case the coalition comes to power. Arvind Kejriwal believed that Navjot Singh Sidhu should join the Aam Aadmi Party and expected that “the party should get 96 (117) seats in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections". Speaking to ABP News, the Delhi CM said that AAP is in consultations with the former BJP leader who had earlier hit out at Kejriwal during his political front launch saying the Delhi CM had asked him to campaign for the party and in lieu of which his wife would be made a minister. “When I met Kejriwal I asked him to define my role in the party. Kejriwal wants only yes men. Arrogance in the democracy is not acceptable. He also wanted me to be a decoration piece,” Sidhu had said in his news conference. Kejriwal is “anarchy in garb of democracy”, he had added. Sidhu, who resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat and the BJP, formed a non-political party Awaaz-e-Punjab but is yet to join with any other party. Earlier, he was speculated to join the AAP that did not materialize.
