NCP (SP) Leader Supriya Sule Dials Karisma Kapoor After Attack On Saif Ali Khan, Calls Incident 'Worrisome'

Supriya Sule, a close friend of Kareena Kapoor’s family, including her husband Saif Ali Khan, contacted Kareena’s sister, Karisma Kapoor, after news of the incident came to light.

Soon after an intruder stabbed the Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai Bandra’s area, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) leader and member of parliament Supriya Sule expressed deep concern over his safety, calling the incident "worrisome".

Supriya Sule, a close friend of Kareena Kapoor’s family, including her husband Saif Ali Khan, contacted Kareena’s sister, Karisma Kapoor, after news of the incident came to light. While she confirmed speaking with Karisma over the phone, she declined to disclose details of their conversation, urging the media to await an official statement from the family.

"Saif is safe and in hospital. Wait for the official statement from the family and the police," Sule told news agency PTI.

Supriya Sule was informed by Karisma Kapoor that Kareena had returned home while Saif was still in the hospital. Sule also questioned how the intruder managed to enter Saif and Kareena’s home.

Politicians React To Incident

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also highlighted major concerns over the safety of people in Bandra. “What a shame that Mumbai sees another high profile attempt on life, the attack on Saif Ali Khan yet again raises questions on Mumbai Police & the Home Minister,” Priyanka Chaturvedi said in a post on social media platform X.

“If celebrities are not safe then who in Mumbai is? Wishing Saif Ali Khan a speedy recovery,” she added. Chaturvedi also emphasised the murder of politician Baba Siddique and actor Salman Khan forced to stay in his bulletproof house in Mumbai’s Bandra area.

Reacting to the incident, Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Raut also said that such incidents occurred every day in slums. “In Mumbai, an artist like Saif Ali Khan is attacked in his most secure house ... How is the common public safe? Such incidents are happening every day in slums. Saif Ali Khan is a celebrity, that is why you have come to know about this news,” an ANI report quoted him as saying.

According to a report by news agency PTI, the statement issued by Kareena Kapoor's team confirmed the attempt of burglary in Saif Ali Khan and (his wife and actor) Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. It also confirmed that Saif developed an injury on his arm and underwent a procedure. And, the rest of the family members are fine.

"We request the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police are already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern," the statement also said.
