PM Modi Reaches Leh In A Major Surprise; Interacts With Army, Air Force & ITBP Personnel Amid Standoff With China
Narendra Modi In Leh: PM is likely to review the security situation in the region, which is witnessing disturbances since last three months. He is interacting with Army, Air Force and ITBP personnel currently, and will then move to Leh hospital to meet soldiers injured in Galwan clash.
PM Modi In Leh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Leh on a sudden visit amid the ongoing dispute with China along the Line of Actual Control. This is so far the biggest development in the ongoing India-China tensions over boundary dispute. He visited the forward areas of Nimmoo, in Leh district of Ladakh. PM is likely to review the security situation in the region, which is witnessing disturbances since last three months. PM is accompanied by Chief Of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat and Army Chief MM Naravane during his visit.

Located at 11,000 feet,this is among the tough terrains, surrounded by Zanskar range and on the banks of the Indus.
It is to be noted that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was earlier scheduled to visit the forward locations in Ladakh today. However, in a sudden move, Rajnath put off his visit to later month.
PM Modi is also scheduled to visit the Leh military hospital to meet the soldiers who were injured in Galwan valley clash. PM to chair high level meet on national security: PM Modi will also chair a high-level meet on national security at his residence after reviewing the situation in Leh, Ladakh. Home Minister Amit Shah, NSA Ajit Doval and top officials of Army will also be present in the meeting. Indian and Chinese soldiers got engaged in the worst face-off in the last five decades in Galwan Valley last month in which as many 20 Indian soldiers were martyred. It is pertinent to note that India has decided to strengthen its aerial power by expanding its arms and fighter aircrafts.
