Mughal Road In Agra Renamed As Maharaja Agrasen Marg

New Delhi: Mughal Road in Agra on Thursday was renamed Maharaja Agrasen Marg.
Regarding the decision of renaming the road, Agra Mayor Naveen Jain said, "The upcoming generation should be inspired by prominent personalities."
"The Mughal Road in Agra has been renamed as Maharaja Agrasen road. He has thousands of followers in Kamla Nagar, Gandhinagar, Vijaynagar Colony, New Agra zone, Balkeshwar areas. They had come here on the occasion of renaming of the road and paid their tributes to him," he further adds.
Maharaja Agrasen was the fabled ruler of Agroha, a trading metropolis.
Agra is a historic place, & ancient names were being continued. So we've changed them. Sultanganj puliya was previously known as Satya Prakash Vikal puliya. In addition, the Ghatia Azam Khan road in Agra was named after late Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal, he added.
Idols of famous people will be erected in two sections of the state, according to Jain.
"In front of Victoria Park, a statue of Gokula Jat, a renowned warrior, will be erected. A Maharana Pratap statue will also be erected on Yamuna Kinara Road. We've invited Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, to dedicate the monument "he stated.
According to Jain, the goal of such programmes is to enable present and future generations to learn about the country's outstanding characters.
