Modi Govt ‘Working For A Few Industrialists’: Priyanka Gandhi At Congress Rally Against Inflation

The Congress leader also used the occasion to reach out the farmers, who recently ended their 15-month-long protest against the three contentious farm laws.

Jaipur: Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government of working for a few industrialists with least concern to the problems being faced by the common man, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday said the ruling dispensation at the Centre is “only about lies”.

“Today’s government at the Centre is only about lies. This government is working for a few industrialists,” she said addressing the ‘Mehangai Hatao’ rally here.

The Congress leader also used the occasion to reach out the farmers, who recently ended their 15-month-long protest against the three contentious farm laws.

“The amount of money they spend on advertisements, why don't they give it to the farmers?” she asked.

The Congress leader accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre of not “listening to the troubles” being faced by the common man.

Urging the people to hold the Centre accountable, she said that the grand old party stands with them in fighting inflation.

“You are here today because an LPG cylinder costs around Rs 1000, mustard oil costs around Rs 200 per litre, petrol and diesel prices are rising, and no one is listening to the troubles being faced by the common man,” she added, ANI reported.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are also present in this rally, which assumes significance in view of the upcoming assembly elections in five states, including politically crucial Uttar Pradesh, next year.

Welcoming the top Congress leaders in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot earlier in the day said it is a “historic day” when a national rally is being organized in Jaipur to protest against the rising inflation due to the Centre’s wrong policies.

“Today is a historic day for Rajasthan when a national rally is being organized in Jaipur to protest against the rising inflation due to wrong policies of the Central government in which all the senior leaders of the party, including the top Congress leadership, are participating,” he tweeted in Hindi.
