New Delhi: With the completion of first year of second term of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party's national president JP Nadda hailed the success of the government. "I consider it a historic year because of the accomplishments and challenges we faced this year," Nadda said. In an interactive discussion with ABP News' Sumit Awasthi, Jagat  Prakash Nadda said that Modi government has been successful in bringing considerable development in the country. "When Modiji resumed the office in 2014, there were big challenges staring us as the country was facing policy paralysis, systems were staggered. But Prime Minister strategically revived Country in all term. That laid trust among citizens and made Modiji resume Prime Minister office for the second time," BJP president said. The leader claimed that within the first year of the second term of governance under the leadership pf Narendra Modi, NDA flagged of several policies, measures and initiatives that were long pending for the welfare of people. "But along this, we sportingly fought Corona challenge. " "I, as a former Health Minister, have witnessed Zika, Ebola and Nipa, but Coronavirus is unimaginable. Yet, India prepared itself very quickly to face the pandemic. Today, India is standing at Unlock 1 due to smart planning and coordination by governance and states," Nadda said. Elaborating on PM Modi's Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, Nadda said that our focus is on making India self reliant by promoting indigenous products. "India has to be self-reliant. There should not be negativity but positivity. We promote Swadeshi. Why negate someone? We can be positive and use our indigenous products. Thus, we're bringing reforms to bring indigenous markets in production and to the markets as soon as possible." Speaking on the extent of lockdown success, BJP leader said that the strategy of enforcing nationwide shut has resulted in lowest death rate. "Lockdown has not failed. It is due to lockdown that India's Coronavirus death rate is lowest in the world. India is ready to fight Covid-19," he said.
