'Misuse' Of Central Agencies, Adani Row On Agenda As Congress Holds CPP Meeting Ahead Of Budget Session
The Opposition parties will once again raise the issue of Adani row in both the Houses of Parliament during the Budget Session, decided the leaders during the meeting.
New Delhi: Ahead of the second leg of the Parliament's Budget Session, the Congress party has decided to raise the issue of "misuse" of probe agencies and deployment of personal staff of Rajya Sabha Chairman in committees of Rajya Sabha, sources told ABP News. The descision was taken by party leaders during Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) meeting.
The Opposition parties will once again raise the issue of Adani row in both the Houses of Parliament, decided by the leaders during the meeting, they said.
CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress President and Leader of Opposition (Rajya Sabha) Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Congress Party in Lok Sabha Adhir Chowdhury and party MPs attended the meeting.
Earlier, speaking to reporters, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said "We will raise each and every issue, be it unemployment, inflation or of ED and CBI conducting raids on Opposition leaders."
The second phase of Budget Session will start today after the first phase was adjounred on a stormy note following an uproar by the Opposition over demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into report by Hindenburg Research on Adani Group and investment by public sector units like SBI and LIC in private entities.
A total of 16 parties attended the CPP meeting which included: Dravida Muuntera Kazhagam, Janata Dal (United), Aam Aadmi Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Kerala Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Nationalist Congress Party, National Conference, Communist Party of India, Indian Union Muslim League, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
