Manoj Sinha denies being in UP CM race, swearing-in of new CM on Sunday evening
Uttar Pradesh: Senior BJP leader Manoj Sinha on Friday denied being a part of UP CM race. He also said that he has no information regarding the same. The suspense around who would take over the chair of Chief Minister of UP escalated after Bhartiya Janta Party’s massive victory which swept the polls clean.
Earlier, as per senior party sources, Manoj Sinha who is the MoS Telecom was most likely to take over the position. The decision regarding it would be taken on Saturday in the party legislature meeting.
Oath taking to take place on Sunday:
Senior BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday told ABP News that the new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister would take an oath on Sunday at 5 pm. He also said that the preparations for the same are underway and all senior leaders would attend the oath taking.
MLA meet to take place tomorrow in Lucknow:
BJP MLAs are set to meet tomorrow in Lucknow to discuss upon who party wants to see as UP CM. As per sources, Keshav Prasad Maurya would put forth the suggestion to elect Manoj Sinha the Chief Minister of the state. Also, Venkaiah Naidu and Bhupendra Yadav are most likely to support Sinha and would suggest the same to party Chief Amit Shah.
Who is Manoj Sinha?
The biggest name in the race is that of Manoj Sinha who is an MP from Ghazipur and the current Minister of State Telecom. He is also in charge of state Railways and has been elected as an MP twice. Sinha has been considered a clean and loyal politician and this adds to his change of becoming the UP CM.
