Man Sentenced To Death For Raping & Killing Minor In Rajasthan. Four Held In Another Gang Rape Case In Jharkhand

A court in Rajasthan's Pali district sentenced a man to death for raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl. Jharkhand police also arrested four men in connection with a woman's gang rape.

A court in Rajasthan's Pali district sentenced a man to death on Saturday for raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl in January, according to the victim's counsel, news agency PTI reported. 

POCSO court Judge Surendra Kumar also fined Narpat Singh Rs 1 lakh. The incident occurred in January, and the 22-year-old was arrested, according to the girl's counsel, Kamlesh Deora, PTI reported. 

Singh was sentenced to death today by a court dealing with cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, he said.

Singh had strangulated her and then beat her to death with a stick. Her body was found in a well. The charge sheet against him was filed before the court in February after which he was sent to jail, Deora said. 

Another news came from Jharkhand where four accused were arrested in connection with the gang-rape of a woman. 

The accused were sent to jail in judicial custody. An FIR was registered u/s 376 of IPC at Hansdiha police station against the accused: Shivendra, SDPO, Jarmundi, Dumka, news agency ANI reported.

Today itself, after being blackmailed by her rapists, a minor girl (15) in class 10 attempted suicide in Jaipur. A man she met through a classmate raped the girl in Rajasthan. She was then sexually assaulted in a hotel by four other people known to the prime accused, Mirror Now reported. 

The Jodhpur police on Tuesday cracked the case where a minor girl received letters allegedly from her classmate threatening her with rape and an acid attack. The police had arrested the boy in accordance with the 2012 Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). The arrest occurred after the girl filed a complaint.

Earlier this week on Monday, A special court in Bundi sentenced two people to 20 years' imprisonment for raping a 20-year-old woman with hearing and speech impairment in February 2020, PTI reported.
