Corona Cases Surge: ‘Majboori’ Of CM Uddhav Thackeray To Impose Lockdown In Maharashtra
Urging all to follow the guidelines with regard to the novel coronavirus pandemic properly, Thackeray assured the people he is continuously monitoring the situation in the state.
Even as the Maharashtra Government extended lockdown in Amravati and Achalpur till March 8 in the aftermath of spike in coronavirus cases, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray showed disinterest in imposing another lockdown in the state but warned "helplessness is also something".
“I do not want to impose it but 'majboori' (helplessness) is also something,” he told the media in Mumbai.

The Chief Minister’s remarks comes after several cities in Maharashtra, over the last few days have been witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases.
In an endeavor to curb the spread of dreaded disease, state government imposed a week-long lockdown in Amravati.
Restrictions have also been issued in Pune with night curfew imposed at several places in the city.
Pune Mayor Murlidhar Kisan Mohol has announced all schools, colleges and private coaching classes will remain shut in the district until March 14 and no public movement will also be allowed between 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Maharashtra on Sunday reported 8,293 new coronavirus cases. Over 50,000 people have so far died due to COVID-19 in the state.
