Maharashtra: Boy And Mother Kill Pregnant Sister, Click Selfie With Severed Head

As per preliminary investigation, the youngster and his mother were upset with the woman's intention to elope and marry.

New Delhi: A 17 year-old-boy allegedly chopped off the head of his pregnant sister for marrying against the wishes of the family and even took a selfie with the severed head. The boy's mother was also involved in the suspected case of honour killing, police in Aurangabad said on Monday.

The incident took place in Ladgaon in Vaijapur tehsil. The boy has been detained and his mother has been arrested, PTI quoted police as saying.

Reports said the 38-year-old mother and her minor son allegedly dragged the head of the victim after killing her and displayed it before the woman's neighbours. They also took selfies with the dismembered head of the woman, who got married about six months ago, police said.

As per preliminary investigation, the youngster and his mother were upset with the woman's intention to elope and marry. According to police, the woman and her husband were friends in college.

"Kirti (21) had got married to Avinash Thore in Vaijapur on June 21 and was staying in Gayagaon village. This angered her family. Kirti's minor brother and her mother reached her house and beheaded her while she was preparing tea for them," Sub Divisional Police Officer Kailash Prajapati was quoted by PTI as saying.

"The minor and his mother even clicked a selfie with Kirti's head. The dismembered corpse was found in the kitchen by her husband Avinash. The two accused reached Vaijapur police station after committing the crime," another official said.
