Maharashtra: Bhira records highest ever temperature at 46.5°C

NEW DELHI: Temperature in Bhira, Maharashtra touched a record maximum on Wednesday as mercury reached 46.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature is almost seven degrees above normal at this time of the year. For next two to three days, dry weather will continue to prevail in the region. The sharp rise in day temperature has forced the people to remain indoors, especially in the afternoon. Meanwhile, severe heatwave and warm night conditions were witnessed in Rajasthan as most districts recorded maximum temperatures at above 40 degrees Celsius. Temperatures at most places were 1 to 2 degrees Celsius above the normal. The MeT department has predicted dry weather in the next 24 hours at most places in the desert state. Even in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh temperatures, at few places, have already crossed 41 degrees Celsius. Heat wave conditions also prevailed at a few places over west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat State and at isolated places over Vidarbha and in remaining places over Rajasthan. Very warm night conditions also prevailed at a few places over Rajasthan. Warm night conditions prevailed at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra. (With inputs from PTI)
