Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Suspends 12 BJP MLAs For Allegedly Misbehaving, Creating Ruckus In House

Maharashtra Assembly Speaker suspended 12 BJP MLAs for one year, for creating ruckus in the House, during the ongoing Assembly session. 

Mumbai: In a sudden turn of events, as many as 12 Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs of Maharashtra have been suspended for allegedly misbehaving with presiding officer of Vidhan Sabha. 

As per the early inputs, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker suspended 12 BJP MLAs for one year, for creating ruckus in the House, during the ongoing Assembly session.

The names of BJP MLAs who have been suspended for one year include Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Parag Alvani, Harish Pimple, Ram Satpute, Jaykumar Rawal, Yogesh Sagar, Narayan Kuche and Kirti Kumar.  

According to media reports, the motion to suspend the MLAs was moved by state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Parab and passed by a voice vote. 

Reating at the development, former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis called the allegations “false” and theatened to boycott the House proceedings. 

“This is a false allegation and an attempt to reduce the numbers of opposition benches, because we exposed the government’s falsehood on the OBC quota in local bodies,” Fadnavis said, as reported by news agency PTI. 

Fadnavis rather blamed Shiv Sena leaders for using abusive words and even statewd that Ashish Shelar had apologised and the matter had ended.
