Karnataka Lockdown 4.0: All Shops To Open, Transport Services Resume; No Relaxations On Sundays

After an emergency state meeting over Lockdown 4.0 guidelines, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa announced the new norms to be followed in the state.

 Bengaluru: Karnataka government on Monday announced its list of relaxations and restrictions for Lockdown 4.0 in the state. Lockdown 4.0 began on May 18 and is going to be in place till May 31. The Central government on Sunday announced the new norms for the lockdown where several relaxations were also announced. After chairing an emergency state meeting over these guidelines, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa revealed that Karnataka will observe a total lockdown on each Sunday till the end of the month. Here is all you need to know about the new lockdown rules in the state: What is allowed?
  1. Standalone shops, including salons, will reopen from Tuesday in all areas from 9 am to 7 pm, except Covid-19 hotspots and containment zones.
  2. State transport and private operators can resume bus services from Tuesday: only 30 commuters will be allowed on each bus with no standees.
  3. Taxis and autos will also be allowed to run.
  4. The public parks can be opened from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm but social distancing rules have to be followed.
  5. People coming from other states will be sent to institutional quarantine.
  6. Train services allowed to resume.
What is not allowed?
  1. People from Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Kerala will not be allowed to enter the state.
  2. Gyms, hotels, malls and theatres will continue to remain shut.
  3. Containment Zones to be under strict supervision - non-essential shops & movement remains banned.
More relaxations have been provided by the Indian government in Lockdown 4 to ease the movement of people and re-start the economic activities as a total lockdown hurts the coffers of the government and private companies alike. WATCH: Watch top 100 updates of the day over Coronavirus
