Leopard Discovered Dead Inside Mumbai's Film City In Goregaon

There were no injuries on the carcass, which was submitted for an autopsy.

A leopard was discovered dead within Mumbai's Film City on Sunday morning, according to a forest official.

According to him, there were no injuries on the carcass, which was submitted for an autopsy.

According to the official, the forest control room received a report around 10.30 a.m. regarding the male leopard lying dead within the Film City in suburban Goregaon.

Nearby lies the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which is home to a lot of leopards.

According to the official, a forest department team went to the scene and sent the corpse for an autopsy, which would assist them determine the exact reason of the feline's death.

He stated that forest officials had alerted local police about the leopard's death.

Leopard Found Hiding In Mumbai School Washroom, Rescued By Forest Dept 

Earlier in June, a leopard was rescued by the Forest Department from the washroom of a school at Bimbisar Nagar in Goregaon East in Mumbai.

The animal was successfully tranquilised and has been taken to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) Leopard Rescue Center. The entire operation took three hours, NGO Wildlife Welfare Association said in a Facebook post. 

The leopard was later shifted to SGNP for medical examination, before being released into the wild.

Leopard

An average size leopard can weigh anywhere around 50 to 90 kg, 84 inches in length excluding the 90-cm tail.

They are commonly found in sub-Saharan Africa, Iran, and the Himalayas, with smaller pockets scattered throughout Central Asia, India, Southeast Asia, eastern China and Manchuria, and the Korean peninsula.

They are nocturnal but do like to bask in the sun. These agile climbers can sometimes store leftovers on tree branches as they are solitary, unlike lions or tigers.
