HD Kumaraswamy to be sworn-in as Karnataka’s Chief Minister today
Congress leader G Parameshwara will take oath as the deputy chief minister.
BENGALURU: JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy will be sworn in as the chief minister of Karnataka today in a ceremony which is being projected as a show of strength by non-BJP parties.
During the ceremony, along with Kumaraswamy, Congress leader G Parameshwara will take oath as the deputy Chief Minister. Congress' KR Ramesh Kumar will be the Speaker of Karnataka's Vidhana Soudha and t rest of the ministry and portfolio allocation will be decided after the floor test which is due to be held on May 24 Governor Vajubhai Vala will administer oath of office and oath of secrecy to the Chief Minister Designate at the Vidhana Soudha, around 4:30 p.m. Among the confirmed attendees are United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.
