Ahead of the Legislative Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur, made-in-India micro-blogging platform - Koo - has reiterated its commitment to safe and fair elections by adopting the ‘Voluntary Code of Ethics’ (VCE). The VCE was created by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), and first presented before the 2019 General Elections to the Election Commission of India. It aspires to the fair and ethical use of social media during elections. By staying committed to the letter and spirit of the VCE, the Koo App assures users of its responsibility as a neutral, reliable and compliant social media platform.
As a signatory to the VCE, Koo will follow all the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India to limit any violations of the electoral code. Moreover, to enhance public trust in the electoral laws and practices, Koo will undertake specific initiatives to inform and educate users, including first-time voters about their rights and responsibilities.
