Kashmir: Army Rescues SDM And His Driver After Vehicle Comes Under Avalanche Near Sadhna Pass
The avalanche hit their vehicle at Sadhna top, while the team was coming from Karnah to Kupwara after taking stock of the COVID-19 situation in the remote area.
Srinagar: The life of a sub-divisional magistrate and two of his staff members today was fortunately saved by the timely intervention by done by the Army unit on Chowkibal, Tangdhar Road.
Today at 2 pm, the SDM, Karnah Bilal Mohi-us-din, and his driver and PSO had a narrow escape after their vehicle was hit by an Avalanche.
The avalanche hit their vehicle at Sadhna top, while the team was coming from Karnah to Kupwara after taking stock of the COVID-19 situation in the remote area.
According to the army, the avalanche rescue team of the Indian Army Avalanche at Sadhna top pass supported by troops deployed around sprang into action and dug out the buried vehicle from a huge mass of snow.
The Avalanche Rescue Team after having dug its way through the snow pile smashed the vehicle's windshield to rescue all the trapped individuals.
As per eyewitnesses around, the avalanche was So huge that it almost pushed the vehicle into the gorge which is more than 500 feet deep.
The buried team was immediately accorded first aid and later stabilized at Sadhna’s medical inspection room.
As per the reports the PSO of the sub-divisional magistrate has received minor injuries in the incident.
The Karnah-Tanghdar road is the only axis connecting the people of Tangdhar to the outside world is spotted with avalanche-prone stretches all along the route.
