Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Rakesh passes away in Brussels

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Rakesh Siddaramaiah , who was undergoing treatment in Belgian capital Brussels, passed away on Saturday due to multiple-organ failure. Siddaramaiah on Thursday flew to Brussels to see Rakesh, who was admitted to a university hospital in Belguim after falling ill while on a tour to Europe, an official said told newsagency IANS. "The Chief Minister had to rush to Belgium at short notice as Rakesh was undergoing treatment in the University Hospital Brussels," the official noted. According to family sources, Rakesh was rushed to the hospital after he complained of severe pain in the pancreas. "Rakesh has been under observation at the hospital's intensive care unit even as there have been signs of recovery," the official added. Rakesh has been holidaying in Europe along with his friends since a week. Siddaramaiah's wife, younger son Yathindra and family doctor Ravi Kumar left for Belgium two days ago.
