Joint forces begin CASO in 8 villages in J&K after killing of three SPOs yesterday
The search is mainly going on 8 villages of Pulwama and South Kashmir
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police have pulled up its sock and have initiated an aggressive search operation in the state to find out if there are any more terrorists hiding in the state. The Jammu and Kashmir police, along with CRPF and Army on Saturday began a door to door search operation, which is currently underway. The joint forces have also cordoned off the area.
The search is mainly going on 8 villages of Pulwama and South Kashmir namely: Lassipora, Armula, Alaipura, Batnur, Garbug, NauporaPayen, Hajdarpora and Achan. Some villages of adjoining Shopian district are also under cordon and search.
The Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) was launched following the killing of three SPOs in Shopian district on Friday; after a death threat by Hizbul terrorists via video.
The incident also led to pouring of resignations from various police officers who fear their lives and that of their family members. The SPOs also shared videos on social media citing reason for their resignations.

As per sources 35 SPOs have resigned since Friday.There are over 30000 SPOs and their services are reviewed from time to time. Some mischievous elements are trying to project that those SPOs whose services are not renewed due to administrative reasons, have resigned.
