JDU's RCP Singh To Secure Berth In Union Cabinet, LJP's Pashupati Paras A Surprise Inclusion

This comes as reports earlier suggested the JD (U) MPs Lalan Singh, Santosh Kumar Kushwaha, Ramnath Thakur and Chandeshwar Prasad are likely to be included in the Union Cabinet.

New Delhi: Amid speculations that the Janata Dal (United) will get four Cabinet berths at the Centre, the name of only party national president RCP Singh has been included in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Cabinet.

This comes as reports earlier suggested the JD (U) MPs Lalan Singh, Santosh Kumar Kushwaha, Ramnath Thakur and Chandeshwar Prasad are likely to be included in the Union Cabinet.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had earlier on Tuesday confirmed the JD (U) will join the Union Cabinet.

Kumar, who had earlier on several occasions denied his party joining the Union Cabinet, said JD (U) national president RCP Singh will take a final call on this.

The name of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Pashupati Kumar Paras, who is presently locked in a bitter feud with his nephew Chirag Paswan, has also been included in the list.

Chirag had earlier on Tuesday expressed his ire over reports of his uncle's induction into the Union Cabinet and said Paras could not be appointed as a minister from LJP quota as he is no longer a party member.
