Jammu & Kashmir: 12 Suspects Arrested As Police Bust Narco-Militant Module In Baramulla
The arrested trio, are believed to be overground workers are from North Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts and have been identified as Sharafat Khan and Sajad Shah from Kupwara and Shahid Rather from Tangmarg Baramulla.
Uri: In a swift and sustained operation, Jammu and Kashmir police have busted a big narco-terror module and arrested 12 persons from Baramulla and Jammu. Police have recovered 11 packets of heroin, arms, and ammunition besides cash in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
According to SSP Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, the narco-militant module was busted by arresting 12 accused operating from North Kashmir.
From their possession, 10 grenades, 4 pistols along with as many magazines and 20 rounds were recovered. This is apart from 11 packets of heroin, and cash worth Rs 21.5 lakhs besides cheque amounting to Rs one lakh seized from them.
The police, the official said, also seized one truck, a Verna vehicle, and a scooty in connection with the case.

Previously, security forces in a joint operation have arrested three persons allegedly involved in drug trafficking and arms running for the militant groups. The trio was arrested from North Kashmir’s bordering town of Uri in Baramulla district.
“Besides drugs, cash, arms, and ammunition have also been recovered from the trio,” a senior police officer said adding that complete details will be shared after the completion of investigation.
