Terrorist Hideout Uncovered In Jammu & Kashmir's Rajouri, Security Forces Seize Cache Of Weapons

Security forces unveiled a terrorist hideout and recovered 8 IEDs, two wireless sets, and a quantity of ammunition on Sunday in a village located in J&K's Rajouri district.

Security forces uncovered a terrorist hideout on Sunday in a village located in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. The operation resulted in the discovery of eight Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two wireless sets, and a quantity of ammunition, officials confirmed.

The recovered materials were found in a significantly corroded state, suggesting that the hideout had been utilised during the period when terrorists were active in the district, over two decades ago, before it was liberated from militancy, said officials cited by news agency PTI.

They claimed that after a search operation at Azmatabad village in the Thannamandi area, 30 km from Rajouri town, police with Army support discovered the hiding place, PTI reported.

Terrorist Killed In J&K's Pulwama

Earlier this month, on April 11, a terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu & Kashmir's Pulwama. According to J&K Police, arms, ammunition, and incriminating material were also recovered from the location where the body of the slain terrorist was recovered.

The encounter started early on Thursday, April 11, in the Frassipora village of Pulwama district. Security forces in Jammu & Kashmir have been on their toes over the past few weeks.

According to PTI, security forces launched a search operation after they received intelligence about the presence of terrorists in Frassipora. As the cops neared their hideout, the terrorists opened fire. The security personnel, too, opened a counterfire and neutralised one terrorist. Following the encounter, the Central Reserve Police Force was deployed in Frassipora.
