Jammu And Kashmir: Two BJP Leaders Test Positive For Coronavirus Before Meeting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha

The two leaders have been touring Kashmir in the past few days and meeting several delegations.

This is to inform that BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul and BJP General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir affairs incharge Vibod Gupta tested positive minutes before their meeting with LG Manoj Sinha. I request all those who came in contact with these two leaders to get themselves tested and to quarantine themselves, JK BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur said today in a brief statement. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha had made a surprise visit to the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar on Friday, August 28. Later he also held a meeting with the Central team of experts to take stock of COVID-19 situation in the Union Territory. As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Jammu and Kashmir currently has 7,672 active COVID-19 cases, while 28,020 people have recovered from the viral infection. As many as 685 people have also lost their lives to Coronavirus in the UT so far.
