The other terrorist killed in the encounter is Waseem Wani, a resident of Shopian while the identity of the third terrorist is yet to be ascertained. A police official was quoted as saying that the terrorists were asked to surrender but they opened fire towards security forces' positions. "In the ensuing encounter, three terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed," the official said. It was a joint operation by the Army, the CRPF and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
