Security forces gun down two terrorists in encounter in J-K Bugdam district

Security forces gunned two terrorists in an encounter in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Wednesday. A brief exchange of fire took place between the security forces and terrorists in Gopalpura region of the district after which the area had been cordoned off.

A brief exchange of fire took place between the security forces and terrorists in Gopalpura region of the district after which the area had been cordoned off. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter. The identities and affiliations of the terrorists killed are yet to be ascertained. A case was registered over the incident. The incident comes a day after an Army jawan got martyred and two were injured during an encounter with terrorists in the Ratnipora area of the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. One terrorist was also neutralised during the operation. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Ratnipora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir during the night following specific information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.
