Indian Army Nabs PoK Resident & Lashkar Guide In Jammu-Kashmir’s Poonch

A Pakistani intruder was arrested by the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Thursday evening while he was trying to cross the border near Chakan Da Bagh.

Jammu and Kashmir: A Pakistani intruder who is said to be a Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group guide was arrested along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. He was held by the Indian Army after he crossed into this side close to Chakan Da Bagh in the district on Thursday evening.

After a joint investigation conducted by the security agencies, he was handed over to the Poonch Police on Friday for further legal action.

This comes over a week after a Pakistani intruder was shot dead by the Border Security Forces in Tarn Taran district in Punjab ahead of the Independence Day on August 12.

BSF had found the intruder crossing the international boundary in the Dal village of the district and approaching the border fence.

Despite BSF personnel's efforts to stop him, the Pakistani man continued to walk towards the border fence.

"Sensing imminent danger and keeping in view the high alert situation on the border in the wake of Independence Day, the troops on duty fired upon the advancing intruder, neutralising him on the spot," Hindustan Times quoted a BSF personnel as saying.

Earlier this month, another Pakistani intruder was shot dead as the BSF foiled an infiltration bid on the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district.

The intruder was spotted crossing the Indian territort near the Khora post. He did not stop despite warnings from the BSF personnel, following which the security forces personnel fired upon him.
