Jammu Air Base Blasts: Home Ministry Hands Over Probe To NIA
The investigation of Jammu Air Force Station attack case has been officially handed over by Central Government to National Investigation Agency (NIA). Now the full investigation will be done by NIA.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially handed over the investigation of the attack on the Jammu Air Force Station on Saturday-Sunday night to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). From here on, the National Investigation Agency is fully involved and will complete the investigation on this matter. At present, the National Investigation Agency has summoned all the documents of the investigation done so far in this case from the Jammu and Kashmir Police. NIA will register a case very soon and proceed with the investigation.
Earlier, several agencies including NIA, National Security Guard along with local police and Air Force officials were probing the first of its kind terror attack in the country, which has not caused any major damage to equipment or personnel but it has the potential for causing heavy damage. The investigating agency was also looking at the case from a terrorist angle, but 48 hours after the drone attack, no concrete information could be found after which the case was handed to the NIA.
Two drone blasts at the Jammu airbase
For the first time on Sunday, two drones were blasted at the Jammu airbase. This attack is said to be the first drone attack on an Indian military base. After this, two drones were also seen hovering near the Kaluchak Military Station in Jammu at two different spots. However, after the troops opened fire the drones flew away. According to the defense spokesperson, if the soldiers had not shown promptness, the terrorists would have been successful in carrying out another attack.
