Caught On Camera: Unidentified Man Throws Two Crude Bombs At University In Madhya Pradesh

A CCTV camera outside the Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur captured an unidentifed man hurling two bombs outside the canteen of the university.

New Delhi: An unidentified man was caught on CCTV on Wednesday throwing two crude bombs outside the canteen of the government university in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

In the video shared by ANI, the man can be seen walking inside the gate of Rani Durgawati State Government University and throwing two bombs one after the other with force outside the canteen of the university. As the smoke faded away from the camera lens, he was then seen speeding away in a motorcycle in which another man was waiting for him.

The man was taking out the bombs from a small bag which he was holding in his left hand whilst he was flinging the bombs

The police said they are investigating the matter.

“We received information that an unidentified person hurled two bombs outside the canteen of the university; the bombs exploded outside. No injuries were reported, and the space was unoccupied. We are investigating the matter”, Ramesh Kaurav, SHO Civil Line told ANI.

The police suspect the attacker threw the bombs at an empty area outside the university canteen as a warning about a serious attack, according to a NDTV report.

Meanwhile, Congress's student wing National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has alleged the target of the attacks was their leader Adnan Ansari, the NDTV report stated.

The NSUI said that Ansari's continuous protest against the university management may have led to the attack.

In a separate incident on Monday, the Mumbai Police launched a probe after a man threatened to blast the Mira Bhayandar area under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The caller gave this information after calling up a Joint Commissioner of Police-rank officer but did not specify the timing or the location of the blast.
