J&K: Terrorist Killed In Encounter In Shopian's Rawalpora Area, Search Operation Underway

One terrorist was killed in Rawalpora area in an encounter with security forces in Shopian.

Jammu and Kashmir: An encounter between security forces and terrorists took place on Saturday night in Rawalpora of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir. A militant has been killed in this encounter. It is being told that the search operation is still going on.

A police officer said that after receiving information about the presence of the terrorists, the security forces conducted a search operation on Saturday morning in the Rawalpora area of ​​the district. He said that the search operation turned into an encounter when the militants opened fire on the security forces. Security forces also retaliated.

About 200 terrorists active in Jammu And Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh said on Saturday that about 200 terrorists are active in the Union Territory. According to intelligence information, another 250 terrorists are trying to infiltrate from the orders of Jammu and Kashmir and are planning violence in the country.

Pointing towards Pakistan, Singh said that the security forces are fully alert and ready to thwart the nefarious designs of the neighboring country to create unrest in Jammu and Kashmir. Before inaugurating the sports competition to be held at the Police Headquarters in Jammu, the DGP said that all necessary security arrangements will be made for the Amarnath Yatra starting on June 28.
