J&K: Four Militants Arrested In Connection With IED Blast On Private Bus In Shopian
Taking to Twitter, Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar confirmed they have cracked the case and arrested all the militants and their associates involved in the IED attack on a civilian bus.
The Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested four militants and their associates in connection with the IED blast that took place in the Sedaw area of Shopian last week, reported Asif Qureshi of ABP News. One soldier was killed in the attack, while two others were injured.
Taking to Twitter Monday, Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar confirmed they have cracked the case and arrested all the militants and their associates involved in the IED attack on a civilian bus carrying army personnel.
“All 4 militants and associates have been arrested. Congratulations to team Shopian,” said the IGP in the tweet.
The blast had taken place around 3 am on June 2 while an army party was moving from Sedaw to lay cordon and search in general area Patitohalan.

"While moving to the target area, at approximately a km from (Sedaw), an explosion took place in the civil hired vehicle, being used by the team, resulting in injuries to three Indian Army soldiers," army said in a statement released after the incident, reported news agency ANI.
"The blast is very likely to be from either an IED or a grenade or a battery malfunctioning in the vehicle. Details are being ascertained," the statement added.
Early today, The Jammu and Kashmir police killed two people linked with the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in an encounter in the Chaktaras Kandi area in Kupwara.
One of the two killed has been identified as a Pakistani terrorist named Tufail. The search operation in the area is still on, said Kashmir Inspector general of Police Vijay Kumar.
