NEW DELHI: The state of Maharashtra came into existence on May 01, 1960 along with Gujarat. In order to celebrate the special occasion this year, the Maharashtra Day parade was held at Shivaji Park in capital Mumbai. Today all domestic stock, bond, currency and commodity markets are shut down. The day is celebrated as a public holiday in Maharashtra. Here is how some of the politicians wished on this day -
