PM Modi Meets Israeli President On COP28 Sidelines, Bats For Two-State Solution Amid War With Hamas
Modi and Herzog met on the margins of the COP28 World Climate Action Summit, which is taking place in the UAE.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Friday, emphasising India's support for an early and lasting settlement of the Israel-Palestine conflict via conversation and diplomacy, news agency PTI reported. Modi and Herzog met on the margins of the COP28 World Climate Action Summit, which is taking place in the UAE. The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences for the loss of life in the terror acts on October 7 and hailed the freeing of captives, according to External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on X.

The battle began on October 7, when Hamas terrorists stormed Israel in a devastating assault.
Modi and Herzog discussed the region's current Israel-Hamas conflict.
“The Prime Minister reiterated the need for continued and safe delivery of humanitarian aid for the affected population,” Bagchi said.

Modi highlighted India's support for a two-state solution as well as an early and lasting resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict via conversation and diplomacy.
"..at the COP28 conference, I met dozens of leaders from around the world. I spoke with them about how Hamas blatantly violates the ceasefire agreements and repeated again and again the demand to place the release of the hostages at the very top of the international community’s agenda, alongside respect for the right of the State of Israel to defend itself," Herzog was quoted by PTI in its report.
