ISI Plotting To Carry Out Terror Strikes In India By Pushing Pro-Khalisatni Elements: Intel Report
Pro-Khalistani groups, with the support of ISI, are continuing their attempts to transport IEDs, guns, ammunition, and explosives into Punjab in order to carry out terrorist attacks.
New Delhi: Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is pressuring pro-Khalistani groups in India to carry out massive terror attacks, according to the intelligence sources, news agency IANS reported.
According to the sources, pro-Khalistani groups, with the support of ISI, are continuing their attempts to transport IEDs, guns, ammunition, and explosives into Punjab in order to carry out terrorist attacks in the country's main cities.
They further said that the ISI is preparing to utilise gangsters and local criminals in Haryana and Punjab to carry out its terrorist objective in collaboration with foreign-based pro-Khalistani organisations, IANS reported.
In a coordinated operation with their Punjab counterparts and Central security services, Haryana Police claimed to have disrupted a major terror attack plot by arresting four 'highly radicalised' Punjab-based terrorists who were in touch with the ISI from the Bastara toll plaza in Karnal.
Their possessions included a vast cache of weapons, ammo, and explosives. According to the police, the suspects were planning to deliver the explosives in Adilabad, Telangana.
The other suspects have been named as Bhupinder Singh, Amandeep Singh, and Parminder Singh, all from Punjab, who had met Rajbir Singh, an accomplice of Pakistan-based handler Harjinder Singh Rinda, in jail.
They were apprehended at a toll plaza while driving to Delhi in a white Toyota Innova.
Rinda's name had come up in the aftermath of a bomb in a Ludhiana court last year.
Sandeep Khirwar, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), said the apprehended individuals in Karnal had three IEDs, one Pakistan-made handgun, 31 ammunition, and Rs 1.30 lakh in cash, IANS reported.
Officials say the guns were delivered by drone at Rinda's request in Ferozepur, Punjab. Gurpreet admitted to receiving the explosives from over the border during interrogation.
According to intelligence network sources, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) recently issued a message on social media on ISI's orders threatening the chief ministers of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab that banning the Khalistani campaign will lead to violent confrontation.
SFJ is a separatist organisation located in the United States that advocates for the independence of Punjab from India as Khalistan.
