Army Releases First Official Footage Of Shooting Down Pakistani Drones Along Western Borders: WATCH

The Indian Army also reiterated its committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, stressing that "all nefarious designs will be responded with force.

Indian armed forces on Friday released a video of shooting down a Pakistani drone along the western border during drone and missile attacks by Islamabad on the intervening night of May 8 and 9.

It stated that the multiple drone attacks by Pakistan were effectively repulsed and that the Indian armed forces "gave a befitting reply". However, it was not stated where the Pakistani military post was located.

"Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir," the Additional Directorate General of Public Information stated in a post on X, sharing the video.

"The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and befitting reply was given to the CFVs," it added.

The Indian Army also reiterated its committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, stressing that "all nefarious designs will be responded with force.

Tensions escalated swiftly between India and Pakistan on Thursday night as Pakistan launched a wave of drones and missiles at military bases in India, including those in Jammu and Pathankot. This followed earlier attempts by Pakistan to strike around 15 locations across northern and western India, which were also foiled. These 15 locations included  Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bathinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai and Bhuj.

On Thursday afternoon, the defence ministry stated that Indian armed forces foiled Pakistan's attempts to target military installations in these 15 cities in the northern and western parts of the country using missiles and drones.

In retaliation, India launched kamikaze drones and destroyed a Pakistani air defence system in Lahore. "Indian armed forces this morning targeted air defence radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan."

"Indian response has been in the same domain with same intensity as Pakistan. It has been reliably learnt that an air defence system at Lahore has been neutralised," the defence ministry said.
