Indian Army Kill 1 Pak Terrorist, Another Surrenders In Uri Sector Of Jammu And Kashmir

As per the Indian Army, the infiltration was attempted in the area of Salamabad Nala.

New Delhi: The Indian Army has neutralized one terrorist while the other surrendered during the operation in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, reported ANI. 

"One LeT terrorist Ali Babar Patra from Okhara, Punjab in Pakistan surrendered before security forces during an operation in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir," Indian Army was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

"On September 25, an encounter ensued, during which one terrorist neutralised, another was caught. The surrendered terrorist in custody identified himself as Ali Babar Patra, of Pak's Punjab. He has admitted he is a member of LeT & was trained by them in Muzaffarabad," Indian Army further said.

As per the Indian Army, the infiltration was attempted in the area of Salamabad Nala. "This infiltration group was supported by the Pakistan side by 3 porters who had come till LoC along with supplies," Indian Army added.

"The movement of such a large group of people can't take place without the complicity of the Pak army deployed on the other side. There have been movements at launch pads across LoC. In last 7 days, 7 terrorists neutralised, 1 terrorist, apprehended," Army further added.

Meantime, the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces on Tuesday have arrested two overground workers (OGWs) associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and busted a terrorist hideout in Kashmir. Srinagar police along with the assistance of the Pulwama Police and Army's 50 RR  arrested two OGWs from South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

On the basis of the information received after interrogation, a Cordon And Search Operation (CASO) was launched along with the CRPF and the terrorist hideout was busted.
