India, China 14th Round Of Commander Level Talks Conclude. New Delhi Presses For Disengagement At Hot Springs

The meeting was aimed at resolving the remaining issues between both countries as the last meeting ended inconclusively. The last meeting took place in October last year.

New Delhi: The 14th round of Corps Commander Level Talks between India and China concluded at around 10:30 PM last night after almost 13 hours. The meeting had started at 9:30 AM at the Chushul-Moldo meeting point on the Chinese side. The Indian side was represented by new 14 Corps chief Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta.

In this meeting, the main push according to a report by news agency ANI was disengagement and resolution of the Hot Spring friction point that emerged after China's aggression last year. India also insisted on disengagement as soon as possible in Depsang Bulge and Demchok.

The meeting came amid the major dispute between India and China over the Galwan valley. Recently, the Chinese army had posted a video hosting its flag in Galwan valley on New Year claiming it as their own territory.

In order to counter the Chinese propaganda, the Indian army had also shared the pictures of their soldiers posted in Galwan valley.

Earlier as well, there have been reports of China indulging in massive infrastructure development near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Indian Army had also escalated its infrastructure development to counter the Chinese side.

Indian Army chief General M M Naravane said on Wednesday that India will continue to fight against the Chinese People's Liberation Army in a “firm, resolute and peaceful manner.”

General Naravane had also said, “Along our northern borders, we have continued to maintain the highest levels of operational preparedness, while engaging in sustained dialogue with the PLA. We will continue to deal with the PLA in a firm, resolute and peaceful manner while ensuring the sanctity of our claims. Necessary safeguards are in place.”

So far there have been 13 rounds of talks between India and China but there was no conclusion to the ongoing standoff except little progress.
