Weather Update: Rain Likely In Delhi Today As IMD Predicts More Showers In North India — Check Alert
The IMD has predicted rainfall in several parts of the country in the next four to five days amid the ongoing monsoon season.
IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the country in the coming days. As the country gears up to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on Monday, the IMD has issued an orange alert predicting very heavy rainfall in parts of Uttar Pradesh today and tomorrow.
Besides Uttar Pradesh, the IMD has also sounded a yellow alert in Uttarakhand for today and an orange alert for Tuesday and Wednesday. As far as the national capital is concerned, the weather office has predicted a cloudy sky with light rainfall in the coming days.
The IMD, in its latest bulletin, has issued a yellow alert signalling heavy showers in several states in the next three to four days. The states include parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. The Met department has also predicted heavy rain in some parts of Rajasthan in the coming days.
West And Central India Rain Forecast
The Met office has predicted fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over central India and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over West India during the week.
The IMD has said that isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over parts of Madhya Pradesh during the week, including Vidarbha. In Chhattisgarh, heavy downpours are likely today and tomorrow. The IMD has also predicted heavy showers in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, and Goa in the next two to three days.
East And Northeast India Weather Forecast
In the east and northeast regions of the country, heavy to very heavy showers are very likely during the week. According to the IMD bulletin, several states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh, are likely to receive very heavy downpours during the next week till August 24.
South India Rain Prediction
In southern states, the IMD has said that heavy to very heavy showers are likely till August 21. States including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep are likely to receive heavy downpours in the next two to three days.
