New Delhi: Indian Air Force’s special unit Garud Special Forces were equipped with the latest weaponry including American Sig Sauer and Russian-origin AK-103 assault rifles, Indian Air Force officials said, as reported by the news agency ANI on Thursday.

“Garud Spl Forces equipped with the latest weaponry including American Sig Sauer & Russian origin AK-103 assault rifles. They'd also be provided with the latest Made in India AK-203 assault rifles in the near future for specialist ops in counter insurgency &other roles”, ANI quoted IAF officials. They would also be provided with the latest Made in India AK-203 assault rifles in the near future for specialist ops in counter-insurgency and other roles, they added.

Commandant, Garud Regimental Training Centre said that we are not competing but every special force relies on the fact that we train the best and use the best equipment.
