IAF’s special unit Garud Special Forces were equipped with the latest weaponry including American Sig Sauer and Russian-origin AK-103 assault rifles.

New Delhi: Indian Air Force’s special unit Garud Special Forces were equipped with the latest weaponry including American Sig Sauer and Russian-origin AK-103 assault rifles, Indian Air Force officials said, as reported by the news agency ANI on Thursday.

“Garud Spl Forces equipped with the latest weaponry including American Sig Sauer & Russian origin AK-103 assault rifles. They'd also be provided with the latest Made in India AK-203 assault rifles in the near future for specialist ops in counter insurgency &other roles”, ANI quoted IAF officials. Commandant, Garud Regimental Training Centre said that we are not competing but every special force relies on the fact that we train the best and use the best equipment.

"Not a competition but every spl force relies on the fact that we're the best because we train the best & we use the best equipment. I won’t say we're second to none but we're best across the forces be it in India or abroad," Commandant, Garud Regimental Training Centre was quoted by ANI as saying.
