Hyderabad: Saudi Arabia-based banker divorces wife through newspaper ad

New Delhi: After WhatsApp and speed post, now a newspaper ad has been used by a Saudi Arabia-based banker to declare divorces and end his marriage to a woman in Hyderabad. As per the reports, Mohd Mushtaquddin (38) has been charged by the Hyderabad police with cheating and cruelty after the 25-year-old woman told the cops that she was shocked to see the ad in a local Urdu daily. The ad published on March 4 and she received a phone call from her husband's lawyer. In 2015, Mohd Mushtaquddin married the woman and took her after five months to Saudi Arabia, where he worked. The couple had a baby girl. Two months ago, the couple came to India. The wife went to her parents' home reportedly after a fight with her husband Mushtaquddin. Just three weeks later, he allegedly left for Saudi Arabia without a word and did not answer phone calls, wife alleged. As per cops, Mushtaquddin had harassed his wife for a dowry of Rs. 20 lakh and a probe was on.
