New Delhi: In the extensive talk with ABP News Prime Minister Narendra Modi on wide-ranging topics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he does not take name of his political rival Rahul Gandhi , because he feels he comes from an ordinary family, while Rahul Gandhi comes from a “naamdar” family. Prime Minister, who has time and again addressed Congress President Rahul Gandhi as Shahzada, or as Raja Maharaja, and avoids taking his name in any of his public speeches, was asked by ABP News, the reason behind this practice. Prime Minister replied to the question by saying “hum to chhote log hain ji”. “I come from an ordinary tea-selling family- from a ‘kaamdaar’ section of society. They (Gandhis) are from big ‘naamdaar’ families; we do not take their names,” he said. Elaborating further, the Prime Minister said “I have been brought up in an ordinary way, it was the public which made me the Prime Minister, otherwise I hail from very simple family.” Watch here: Among the many boiling topics ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, one is the Congress’ move of bringing Priyanka Gandhi in active politics by inducting her as general secretary in the party. The move which triggered many political debates and speculations, also gave rise to an invariable comparison between the two Gandhi scions – Rahul and Priyanka, with many being assured of Priyanka’s potential to outshine brother Rahul in leadership . BJP too had responded to the move saying Priyanka’s induction proved that Rahul Gandhi has been a failure. ABP News’ quizzed PM Modi to know his take on the topic.  He was asked which among the two – Rahul or Priyanka- he deems a better leader? Replying to this, Modi attacked the Congress party over nepotism in the party. Watch PM Narendra Modi's full interview with ABP News here.  He said that it is a matter of concern that in more than hundred years of this party, nobody from the country could emerge as leader in the party, except for one family. He further said that he doesn’t know any of the Gandhi siblings personally and never had any  sort of discussion with them, so he feels it is the internal matter of the party, they may appoint anybody who they feel like as their leader. When he was asked when why he only targets nepotism in Congress, while it is present in all Akali Dal and also Shiv Sena, PM said that it is the moral responsibility of the mainstream parties to maintain an internal democracy within them. When asked about speculations about Priyanka Gandhi’s candidature from his constituency Varanasi, PM said that in a democracy anybody can contest from anywhere. Decision-making is the task of public.
