Amidst the ongoing flood and landslides in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is set to visit Manali today to take stock of the situation in the flood affected areas. A red alert has been issued Mandi, Kullu Manali, Solan and Sirmaur till July 13. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the landslides and flash floods, the Chief Minister assured that the State Government is making all-out efforts to tackle this situation efficiently.

- The hill state has suffered a loss of around four thousand crores so far due to heavy incessant rains and flood. More than 20 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours.
- At least 80 roads in Himachal Pradesh have been completely destroyed. More than 200 houses have been damaged due to heavy rain in the hill state.
- Fourteen teams of National Disaster Response Force have been deployed in the state for rescue operations.
- Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu virtually presided over a review meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority, (SDMA) on Monday. He took stock of the situation and gave necessary directions to the authorities, as per an official release.
- To accurately evaluate the damages caused, the Chief Minister directed the committee headed by Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi to convene a meeting soon. He also directed all the Deputy Commissioners to remain vigilant for the next 10 days and provide all possible assistance to the affected persons.
Incessant rains caused the Beas river to swell in Himachal Pradesh and triggered landslides in Uttarakhand resulting in road blocks and traffic snarls. Several footage shared on social media showed bus and trucks being carried away with the water current and trees being uprooted in Himachal Pradesh.
Heavy rainfalls have been wreaking havoc in several states of the country including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and the national capital Delhi.
