Arambai Tenggol, a socio-cultural Meitei collective-turned armed group, surrendered 246 weapons on the last day of the deadline to submit illegally acquired arms. The deadline was extended on February 28 by the governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, to March 6. Earlier, on February 20, the governor gave a one-week ultimatum to all the armed groups of the valley as well as the hills to surrender the illegal arms looted from the armouries of the police stations across the state since the start
