Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami provided an update on the ongoing efforts to locate missing individuals and manage the aftermath of the recent avalanche and heavy snowfall in the state. He emphasized that all necessary arrangements have been made for the safety and well-being of the people, with authorities working around the clock. Dhami mentioned that the bodies of the four deceased individuals would be sent to their homes after the necessary formalities. He reassured citizens that rescue operations were ongoing, supported by the army, ITBP, NDRF, district administration, and other agencies. Coordination between all these bodies was ensuring the smooth running of operations. The CM noted that as the weather was expected to improve, there would be a heightened alert from the next day, advising workers in higher altitudes to suspend activities where necessary. Dhami also pointed out the possibility of more avalanches and glacial activities as winter progresses into March, urging caution for construction work in vulnerable areas. He mentioned that high-tech machinery like thermal imaging cameras and GPS systems were being sent to aid in the rescue operations.
