Ex-MLA Among 6 Congress Leaders Expelled In Haryana For 'Anti-Party' Activities Ahead Of Civic Polls

Six Haryana Congress leaders were expelled for six years for engaging in "anti-party activities" during campaigning for upcoming municipal elections in the state.

Six Haryana Congress leaders were expelled from the party for six years for indulging in "anti-party activities." 

Former MLA Rambir Singh, Vijay Kaushik, Rahul Chaudhary, Pooja Rani, and Rupesh Malik were the leaders who have been expelled by the party.  

An order issued by the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee stated: "Consequent upon the receipt of reports through various means of communications pertaining to party leaders/workers having found indulged in anti-party activities in the recent past during ongoing process of MC Elections (2025), the following persons are hereby expelled from the party for 6 years with immediate effect".

The development comes just a week after seven leaders were ousted from the party for indulging in "anti-party" activities ahead of civic polls slated for next month.

District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents of Karnal, Tarlochan Singh and Ashok Khurana, party leaders from Yamunanagar, Pradeep Chaudhary and Madhu Chaudhary, senior leader from Hisar, Ram Niwas Rara, party leader from Gurugram, Harvinder, and PCC delegate, Gurugram, Ram Kishan Sain were among those expelled from the party. 

Across the camp, the Bharatiya Janata Party also expelled 58 local leaders for anti-party activities. These leaders were contesting the Gurugram and Manesar civic body polls as independents and have been expelled from the saffron party for a period of six years, reported Hindustan Times. 

The order was issued by BJP district president Kamal Yadav on Monday evening confirming the suspension of 44 leaders from Gurugram, 13 from Manesar and one from Pataudi. 

Despite not getting a BJP ticket, these leaders were actively seeking votes using their past association with the party and talking about their proximity to senior BJP leaders as part of their campaign.
