NEW DELHI: The term of the 16th Lok Sabha has come to an end. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday asked the members to introspect whether they lived up to the expectations of people whom they represented in the House in the last five years. In her address on the final day of the last session of the 16th Lok Sabha, Mahajan expressed satisfaction that 205 legislations were approved by the House. Giving details about the business conducted by the outgoing Lok Sabha, she said 205 important legislations were passed. These include law to curb black money as well as those related to juvenile justice, GST, Aadhaar and 10 per cent reservation for economically weaker section of people. Here are 16 landmarks of the 16th Lok Sabha The High 1.      Passed bill to enable 10% reservation for all economically weaker sections including the upper caste. 2.      Passed the Goods and Services Tax bill 3.      Passed the Fugitive Economic Offenders Bill 4.      Passed the Muslim Women (Protection of rights on marriage bill) dealing with triple talaq 5.      Passed Maternity benefit amendment bill Increasing maternity leave for working women from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. 6.      Merged railway budget with general budget 7.      Advanced general budget from last day of Feb to Feb, 1. 8.      Passed Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 enabling the trial of 16–18 yr old  involved in Heinous Offences to be tried as adults. Major Budget announcements 9.      First time provided direct income support to farmers that will be credited into their account 10.  Increased tax rebate limit that enables people with income up to five lakhs to pay no income tax. 11.  Ayushman Bharat Yojana to benefit the poor 12.  Announced that corporate tax rate will be gradually reduced from 30% to 25%. 13.  Launched schemes to provide toilets and electricity to all households The bills that caused controversy 14.  Bill to exempt political parties from scrutiny on foreign funds 15.  Citizenship amendment bill 16.  Some sections of the society criticized Triple talaq and reservation based on economic status.
